DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM

The French Air and Space Force Academy’s engineering program leads to the awarding of an engineering degree certified by the Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur (CTI), the Commission which regulates Engineering Schools in France, which is equivalent to a Master's degree. Admission is by competitive examination via "classes préparatoires aux grandes écoles" (CPGE) Preparatory Schools.

The training provided within this framework at the French Air and Space Force Academy is based on three foundations : military and sports training, an introduction to the world of aeronautics through gliding (even for non-aircrew personnel) and finally an academic pillar. Those three bases are directly linked to the French Air and Space Force professions and therefore overlap throughout the three years of training. Moreover, a large role is left for the development of skills through studies carried out in the form of projects. The objective of the training is to deliver an initialexpertise, bothmilitary and academic, necessary for the employment of future French Air and Space Force officers throughout their career, from the first assignment in their specialty to senior staff officer functions.
