From the early 1960s onwards, the Air and Space Force Academy has been focused on the international facet of officer training. Future officers will be required to work with foreign counterparts more and more frequently and earlier and earlier in their careers, during temporary exercises, overseas operations, or within multinational structures, headquarters, and foreign armed forces.

The Air and Space Force Academy has set up numerous exchange programs to welcome foreign cadets in Salon and send French cadets abroad. Each year, more than 200 cadets participate in these programs.

In addition to its bilateral partnerships, sometimes regulated at government level, the Air and Space Force Academy is active in various international networks to develop exchange activities.
